Ladies Pickleball Tea Spring 2018
Several of our pickleball ladies were able to gather together for an Afternoon Tea on May 2nd at the Global Tea Mart Tea Room (located on Alma School and Chandler Heights) as a way of ending out the season and saying goodbye to those leaving for the summer. We learned the history of how afternoon teas came to be, feasted on tea sandwhiches, quiche, scones and delectable dessserts. As a way of getting to know each other better off the courts, a fun icebreaker game was played with questions such as "what was your most favorite childhood memory" to the silly such as "just how fast do hotcakes sell?" I will let that sink in for a minute :) We look forward to another tea in the Fall/Winter with the ladies unable to join us today!

Club Championship Social April 14, 2018
With temperatures this past week ranging from the 90's to a couple of 100 degree days, as well as the spring winds that blew through, we were thankful to have a great day to play! 16 teams signed up to play in a round robin format that included Men's division, Women's, and Mixed Doubles. A good number of spectators were on hand to cheer for everyone participating. Thank you to Joann Zapatka for putting together the teams and format, and to Monica Dickens and her faithful team of volunteers that get everything set up, provide food and prizes, and make the event fun for all!

Train with the Pro - Laura Fenton Kovanda
Our first Train with the Pro event was a huge success. We learned a lot about
the strategy of the game and how it should be played. The hard part will be remembering what we learned and using it during our matches. Hopefully we
will be able to schedule her to come again if her busy schedule allows for it.
If so, you will want to make sure to signup as you will learn a lot from her clinics!
General Membership Meeting - October 2017
Our first meeting of the year was a great success with close to 90 people
in attendance. The Bylaws were approved, a new Treasurer elected, and information was shared on the Amenities Task Force plan for a "world class recreational facility" which will include pickleball.
